Land use and environment

The Manager of the Land Use and Environment Branch is also the Conservator for Public Reserves. 

The branch is responsible for:

1. •Waste Management Centre
   

2. •Health, Building and Quarantine services
   

3. •Parks and Forestry (including the Tanalith Plant and Stock Inspection)
   

4. •Planning Office
   

5. •Environment Office
   

Environment Office

The Environment Office is responsible for a wide range of functions including:

1. •environmental issues that affect the island, including quarantine, water and wastewater management, waste
   

2. •sustainable management of Reserves
   

3. •management of Commonwealth funded environmental projects
   

4. •overseeing the Ivens (Toon) Buffett Environmental Fund
