Norfolk island public library

The Public Library is located off New Cascade Road near the Radio Station.  The opening hours are listed in the telephone Directory and broadcast in News Notices on Radio Norfolk.

The Public Library is part of the Administration’s Corporate and Community Services division.   It provides a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction material which can be used by both visitors and residents.

The Norfolk Island Reference section is very popular, especially with visitors, and has an excellent range of publications relating to the history of Norfolk Island.  It also contains reports about Norfolk Island.  You cannot borrow all the books in the reference section but you can use them at the Library.

Books and magazines are purchased regularly so new books are always available. There is a special children’s section which has some videos and a range of recordings.   To help people who have poor eyesight, the library has a collection of quality large print books.  Many of these have been donated by the Norfolk Island Quota Club, some of which are dedicated in memory of deceased Island residents.

The Librarians are always happy to help you find a suitable book to read or to help you use the reference section.
