The concept of an Interactive Map project was developed by the TourEd Committee to impart knowledge about Norfolk Island history, culture, industry, services and natural resources to students, community members, visitors to the Island and potential visitors via the World Wide Web. It includes documents containing a wealth of information gathered from various sources, written in English and translated* into the Norfolk language.

* The translations, on the whole, are literal translations. In time, it is planned that a human voice, speaking the Norfolk language, will be added to each document.
