This poem was written by George “Poot” Nobbs at a time when school students were forbidden to speak the Norfolk language at school. It is read by Beryl Nobbs Palmer.
A copy of the poem, in beautiful cursive handwriting, is held in the School Library.
Beryl also created the Dictionary of Norfolk Words and Usages with explanations and examples of the ways in which the language is used. The dictionary is sold locally to raise funds for the Norfolk Island Sunshine Club
